I also represented Ray by holding the model condo open on the weekends. One December evening, even though it was only 4:30 p.m., it was dark and I had had no traffic for the last hour. I decided to close up and go home. I had been outside for a break and turned to go back in when I heard a loud noise.

Next, I saw a bright headlight, just one. “Oh, cripes”, I thought, realizing that the person who was approaching was on a motorcycle. I was tired and crabby and just wanted to go home. I was also nervous about being alone in the dark and someone driving up on a Harley. I was going to go back in through the garage and find a hammer in case this person did not bode well.

I heard yelling, turned around and realized a man had gotten off his motorcycle and was hollering, “Wait, wait. I am an accountant and I also play the violin”! Being a fairly trusting person, I decided that I probably didn’t need the hammer. I sold him a nice little house in Birmingham and three years later, sold the house for him when he moved back to Boston to get married. He was a very good client.
