Karen Remy passed away at her home in Seattle, on October 14th 2013 at the age of 69.  Karen’s passion were her children, grandchildren and being the best person who never quit living.  Karen showered love on her family and friends while reaching out to strangers to learn their story and finding ways to help.

Karen attended Grand Ledge High School and went to Michigan State University to follow a path in theatre focused on acting.  She left that path to focus on being a wife to Paul Remy and raising their children.   While her husband was in the Army stationed in Washington D.C., Karen spent her time marching and standing up for various women’s rights; this was central to her being, voicing what she believed.

Karen started sales in Tupperware In the late 70’s with her husband Paul Remy.  By the early 80’s Karen was in the top 5 US managers in Tupperware and winning numerous awards and merchandise from her job.  Eventually Karen, followed her passion for houses by starting her Real Estate career in the mid 80’s when she had an opportunity to change careers.

After her divorce, Karen spent the last 22 years being a very successful realtor and developing a strong network of friends and clients.  Her career was filled with multi-million dollar years, awards, long lasting friendships with clients and numerous achievements: Leading Edge Society, Associate Broker, ABR, CRS, and Graduate of Realtor Institute.

Karen’s belief in community, gender equality and strong compassion for others was demonstrated in her daily actions: working on the line in soup kitchens, delivering presents to Detroit children in need, and encouraging everyone to vote even if it was not for her candidate.

Karen left behind two sons Josh Remy and Chris Remy, daughter in-law Stacy, four beautiful grandchildren Eric, Alyssa, Shannon and Evan and two lovely nieces Cynthia Lunder and Maggie Schultz.

A Memorial will be held in early summer of 2014 in Grand Ledge. Please visit this site to get updated information.
